Unable to send emails in Thunderbird
Some days ago I had great help from one of your advisers (David?) that helped me get TB set up. However, when I now try to send an email, it fails with the following message: Sending of the message failed. An error occurred while sending mail: Outgoing server (SMTP) error. The server responded: * OK Gimap ready for requests from 2.27.177.131 n16mb82641373wmk
Can anyone advise me what to do to avoid this? Thanks for any help. Nick Bygrave

Hello, Nick, I'm not sure, but check your security settings, e.g., SSL, TLS, etc. as possibly being in conflict. What are your smtp settings?
The owner of question seemed a bit confused about where to put a response https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1382517 I've copy pasted info into this question to maintain continuity.
This is a reply to David's question to mine about being unable to send emails. Hi David Thanks for coming back so quickly. My Server settings are: Server Type: IMAP Mail Server Server Name: smtp.gmail.com Port: 993 User Nasme: full gmail email address Connection Security: SSL/TLS Authentication method: OAuth2
Outgoing server Description: not specified Server name: smtp.gmail.com Port: 465 User Name: Nicholas Bygrave Connection Security: SSL/TLS
There are several errors, but might be just a typo. Incoming: My Server settings are: Server Type: IMAP Mail Server Server Name: smtp.gmail.com - this should 'imap.gmail.com' Did you just make a typo error or is this incorrect ?
Your question was all about sending....so this means the smtp outgoing server settings which are not complete - data is missing.
Outgoing server SMTP
- Description: not specified - suggest you enter the full gmail email address here.
- Server name: smtp.gmail.com - This is OK
- Port: 465 - This is OK
- Connection Security: SSL/TLS - this is OK
- Authentication Method: ? - You did not mention this setting - It must be set as 'OAuth2'
- User Name: Nicholas Bygrave - this is incorrect - it must be the full gmail email address
