Not all incoming emails showing
If I open an email on my phone prior to checking Thunderbird on my computer, that email doesn't show in Thunderbird. Even if I forward it back in, the previously opened email doesn't show next time I open Thunderbird. This is a recent problem and probably a known issue by now. I assume a new update asap will fix this, but please advise if there's a way to work around that. It goes without saying that any of us using Thunderbird for business can't afford to have emails missing. Thank you.

Toad-Hall you may well have resolved this for me! View>Folders wasn't set to All. Thank you so much. I'll experiment more but hopefully this is what I needed.

This is usually a symptom that the phone is set for POP mail. I use phone and Thunderbird daily and both use IMAP and there is no problem.
Actually my phone is in fact set to IMAP. This issue just started within the past week for me.
Okay, then there must be a setting in either the phone or PC causing this, as sharing accounts between phone and PC is common. I assume your PC is also IMAP?
Thanks for these, David. PC also IMAP. I'm going to contact my email provider as I'm now guessing this may be a unique problem specific to me and whatever caused it, it's very recent with no settings changed unless a phone s/w update is the culprit.
I have an update on my end. My MacBook Thunderbird keeps all emails as it should. Settings on both my desktop and laptop are identical, yet the problem persists on my desktop.
For emails that have been previously read another imap device eg: phone, they would be marked as read on server, then they would not be new unread mail.
If desktop had a filter running to not display previously read mail then you would not see it. So check and select these settings:
- View > Folders > All
- View > Threads > All
select Inbox and check the 'Quick Filter Bar' Does it have any icon highlighted? If yes, uncheck the icon. example: the 'pin' icon may be using a Quick Filter setting set on another folder. the 'Unread' icon will force only unread emails to display

Unfortunately the issue still exists. I'll install and reinstall Thunderbird and make sure View>Folders will again be set to all.
I did find that in View>Sort By, Date wasn't checked. Hopefully this is it. Thanks again to Toad-Hall for getting me to look deeper into all of the View settings.
