Two problems, no doubt related:

1. All of a sudden, about a week ago, we started getting this message:

Sending of the message failed. The message could not be sent because connecting to Outgoing server (SMTP) failed. The server may be unavailable or is refusing SMTP connections. Please verify that your Outgoing server (SMTP) settings are correct and try again.

No changes to any profile or configuration have been made. Running Win7Pro and the latest Tbird on an HP Envy laptop.

2. Also, failure to automatically download messages from Network Solutions, our email provider when first loading TBird. "Connection to server timed out." When I then Get Messages, it works (and works for the rest of the time TBird is loaded; unload and reload, problem again.

Oops, also, when TBird fails to Send and I get the error message, clicking on Send again works.
