Thunderbird very unstable - keeps permanently freezing
I am running Thunderbird 95.0b4 on a Windows 10 machine and becoming increasingly frustrated. As a user for around 15 years (and beta test user for many years as well), I am close to uninstalling due to the stability issues I am facing.
Since the beta 2 version was rolled out, I have regularly been experiencing the program hanging, freezing, displaying "loading message", displaying either the incorrect message to that selected, displaying the hidden HTML markup language and security language in the message body, or multiple messages from the inbox inline. I have tried a re-install with no success.
Whenever a message goes to display in preview mode, the preview pane box goes grey ant the message either loads slowly (20-30 seconds) or causes the program to hang altogether.
All add-ons / extensions have either been removed or disabled.

No differences identified whether running other programs simultaneously or not.
Any ideas greatly appreciated. Failing a solution to the beta version, is there a way to roll back my profile to be able to work under the current non beta release version?

The first diagnostic step is usually to run Windows in safe mode with networking to test the impact of startup apps like antivirus, online backup etc. Next, I would create a new profile, add an account, and see if the performance improves, especially if the current profile has been used over many versions. Test as well in TB safe mode, as this applies other factors besides disabling add-ons.
It's possible, but not recommended, to install the release version and run the beta profile, but it's better to create a separate profile for the release. For example, I have the release and beta versions, and Betterbird, all installed and using separate profiles.
