Lightning is missing in Add-ons Manager after downloading the latest version
I had a problem with my Thunderbird/Davmail messaging. Eventually, I deleted it from the system and started again with a download of the latest version. Only then did I realise the risk and was relieved to find that tagged emails and all local folders are still there. There is good instruction for getting the calendar back. However, when I get to the add-ons Manager, Lightning is not listed. I have not found any option of getting Lightning anew.
Also, my address book is empty.
Thank you so much for any pointers, Ulrike

Hi Stans,
Thank you so much!
That solved everything. I got it all back, calendar and address book! Yes, I have only a few entries in the calendar, teaching only one last module. But the few are crucial rather than optional.
So, thank you again for sorting me out over something that was driving me mad for at least a week. I don't like my organisation's alternative of outlook email.
Yours sincerely, Ulrike

Lightning has since been integrated into Thunderbird, it's not a separately installed add-on anymore.
Thank you, Stans, for your response. That would explain that the calendar and address book are there, just without any data. So, does that mean that I lost the data irretrievably?
Thank you again, Ulrike

Not necessarily. Open your profile folder (see Profiles - Where Thunderbird stores your messages and other user data) and see if you have the files named abook.sqlite, history.sqlite and a folder called calendar-data. Let's see a screenshot of what's inside the calendar-data folder.
Ah, thank you, Stans, I will give it a go. At the moment I seem to have the initial problem of not being able to open Thunderbird. And it seems to be due to repeating a stupidity of allowing trusted Thunderbird to make changes to my system. Could it possibly have been a malicious intervention?
I might have to download all over again and am only glad I did not go to the trouble of trying to remember dates etc. before talking to you.
Thank you again, Ulrike

Hi Stans,
Having got back into Thunderbird/Davmail deleting and restarting the version I had in my Download folder (5.5.1-3299), I followed your suggestion and did not get a calendar link in Thunderbird, but got via %APPDATA% a 'calendar data' folder. I am hopeful to see the Backup folder but found different sqlite links (deleted and local).
Fingers crossed about what you are going to make of it.
With lots of thanks, Ulrike
Sorry, Stans, I am coming into here in drips and drops. I might be working with the wrong files from my Download:
1) davmail-5.5.1-3299-setup.exe (dated 30/07/2020)
When that did not open again, I tried 2) Thunderbird Setup 78.5.0.exe (dated 23/11/2020)
The second one did get a response, at least, asking me to create a new profile (See attached screenshot). I don't dare to make another move without your approval or advice.
Thank you for your patience, Ulrike
Uninstall v78 and reinstall the latest; v91. In your calendar-data folder, I see the local.sqlite file last modified on 30th October. It's approximately 2MB, not much, but it just may contain your events if you didn't have lots of them. Let's see what's inside the backup subfolder.
