I'm sorry, but for some reason Thunderbird no longer lists my mail beginning with today's date. There was something that my pointer touched that made this happen. I don't know what it was. But I would like to have my mail again listed beginning with today's date! How do I do it?

The 'Inbox' is the folder in your mail account that receives all incoming mail. It is located in the left 'Folder Pane' below the name of your mail account.

When you select the Inbox folder (or any folder) to see list of all emails, the 'Column headers' are displayed at the top of the list of emails displayed in the Thread Pane. When you do a left click on a column header the sort of the emails in that folder is reversed. So if all your emails are sorted by date with oldest at the top, you left click on the 'Date' column header to reverse the sort order and newest emails will be at the top.

If you had left clicked on the 'Subject' column header then all emails get sorted alphabetically eg: ABC, clicking on 'Subject' again reverses the sort to ZYX This would also mean your emails are no longer sorted by Date, so could be in any order because the order is now done by 'Subject'.

So, click on the 'Date' column header to sort by Date - if it shows oldest at the top, then click on 'Date' again to reverse the sort.

Image below shows what I'm talking about when I mean 'Column Headers'. Image is not showing the latest version, but the column headers are still the same.

Your pointer may have clicked on the heading at the top of one of the columns in Inbox, thus changing to sort by that column. Each column header can be clicked to sort, or to reverse sort. If that is what happened, point and click on the date column heading. Report if that works! Thanks.

I think I did as you suggested, but nothing happened. Could you possibly explain yourself, with a bit more detail, in what you think I should do. Part of the problem that I am having is because my brain has to deal with two Languages. I was born in the US and lived there for forty years, but then I moved to Europe and have lived there for another forty years. So I am having, in my later years, a problem trying to read between the lines in the English language. You have written: "Your pointer may have clicked on the heading at the top of one of the columns in Inbox, thus changing to sort by that column." Would you be so kind and explain what you mean by 'Inbox'? I don't recognize this term, or if I have one.
