Slov internet speed and websites does not open with Firefox on Windows 10.
Since a couple of weeks my Firefox browser for Windows 10 64bit has issues. Last update 90.0.2 did not work either,and the issues is still there.
Internet is extremly slow,some sites will not open and i cant logg in to Facebook.
Under settings,i have tried different settings. Right now i have the standard setting. Under Help,i have tried to restore,diagnos and clean catch and restart,but it has not solved the issue.
What could be causing these issues? Do i have to do some special settings or do i have to add some Add-ons/Extensions in order to have Firefox work normal again?

Start Firefox using Troubleshoot(Safe) Mode {web link}
A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Troubleshoot(Safe) Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?

Yes, even in Safemode the problem is still there.
Start your Computer in safe mode with network support. Then start Firefox. Try Secure websites. Is the problem still there?

I tried so,but the issue is still there. I dont belive the issue is caused with my Firewall or Antivirus,since i had them turned off during the procedure and even when i tried to run Firefox. It must be a bug in Firefox causing this issue,since in Edge,Chrome and Opera works just fine with my system and antivirus.

Type about:profiles<enter> in the address bar.
I followed above links,then i typed in about:profiles and created a new profile,which i now use.
However,the issue remains. Slow internet speed and websites blocked,for example Facebook.
Hi sten_holgerssons,
Try Refreshing your Browser:-
- To do this, click the menu button at the top right corner of the Firefox window.
- Click the “Help” option near the bottom of the menu.
- Click the “Troubleshooting Information” option in the Help menu.
- Click the “Refresh Firefox” button at the top right corner of the Troubleshooting Information page.
- You’ll be warned that this will remove your browser add-ons, reset your customizations, and revert other browser data to the default settings. Click “Refresh Firefox” to confirm you want to make these changes.
Shashank Shekhar: Thank you for the tip. I followed these steps,but it does not help. The same issues still remains.
Hope this will help you

Shashank Shekhar None of these quick fixes could help me.

Thank you!
I really need more assistance.
No,that is the strange thing! Edge,Chrome and Opera works perfectly with both internet speed and no websites are blocked. I can logg in at for example Facebook at all those other browsers.
Firefox right now almost acts like a virus,disturbing the system.
What i would like to see is either to how make a total clean install of Firefox on my PC,including all of it´s parts of it in the register, or a new updated version of Firefox that fix the issues.
This probeble won't help, but give it a try;
Some problems occur when your Internet security program was set
to trust the previous version of Firefox, but no longer recognizes your
updated version as trusted. Now how to fix the problem: To allow
Firefox to connect to the Internet again;
- Make sure your Internet security software is up-to-date (i.e. you are running the latest version).
- Remove Firefox from your program's list of trusted or recognized programs. For detailed instructions, see
Configure firewalls so that Firefox can access the Internet. {web link}
I followed those steps,and my Firewall is configured for Firefox.
Sorry,this did not solve the issues.
Is there no engineers or programers at Mozilla who read this posts at this community and can give a solution how to fix the issues?
I am about to give up now.
Today when i started Firefox,much to my suprise,it performs much better!
The internet speed is much higher,even if it significant slower than when using other browsers,but there is a clear improvment.
In Edge and Chrome i have an average download speed of 250-300 mbit/s even with my VPN turned on,but in Firefox i got an average download speed of 70 mbit/s.
Now sites are not blocked either. I can now logg in at for example Facebook without Firefox blocking it.
It looks like the issues is semi solved.
Edit: now when restarting Firefox,it again blocks from logging in at Facebook. This is strange!
Modified
Hmmmm. Could have been an update. Or a corrupt file was removed. As long as it gets better.
I have received many helpful advice from you other users.
So far it has not solved my problems. Firefox behaves strange. Random the internet speed is extremly lov,and sometimes it is faster. Sometimes when open the Firefox browser it blocks sites like Facebook,and sometimes it does not.
Does anyone know if there is coming an update soon fixing these issues? Does anyone know if the developers from Mozilla reads this posts regarding issues from users,and are working to solve the issues?
I now downloaded the latest Firefox 91.0 for Windows 10,and i noticed that my previous issues is fixed. :)
Now the internet speed when using VPN has increased enormly,and i can log in to Facebook and sites are not blocked,even using strict mode.
Maybe i am to fast to give feedback,since i right now use Norton 360,and Firefox works perfect with its firewall etc. It´s just a trial period.
I normally use Zone Alarm Extreme Security suite.
I can´t tell for sure,since i have not tested the Firefox 91,0 with Zone Alarm yet,but so far i can tell that the Firefox browser works perfectly when using Norton.
I get back when i have tested the new 91,0 with Zone Alarm, but so far it looks good!
