I have trouble retrieving emails since the new nested format came in. Is there a way to get rid of it?

Chosen solution

Threaded emails is not new. It has been around forever.

Select Folder to see emails in list You can set the sort by information here:

  • Menu app icon > View > Sort by
  • select 'Unthreaded'

You can also switch it on and off via the 'Thread' column header which by default will be the first icon on left side. If you hover over it there is a tooltip popup which says 'Display message threads'. Click on icon to switch on, click on icon again to switch it off. It acts like a toggle and it's purpose is to group all the emails based on subject where perhaps an email conversation has been going on with Replies.

You can also remove that 'Thread' column header. Right click on any column header OR left click on the far right column header icon which will show a drop down list. If 'Thread' is selected and you click on it, it will deselect and remove it from the displayed column headers.

If you use the 'threaded' view, then it is easy to locate unread emails which at first may seem difficult to locate. Use the 'Quick Filter Bar' - select the 'Unread' icon which has a tooltip 'Show only unread messages'. After reading the unread messages, click on that same 'Unread' icon again to remove the filter and see all emails again.

I generally do not use the Threads, I just like it that way, but I do have a couple of folders that use the Threads as those folders have conversations on topic and it looks incredibly messy if you do not use Threads.
