Is Thunderbird still supported?
When I searched for thunderbird on Google, the first question that came up was "Is Mozilla Thunderbird still supported?" It was answered by:
Thunderbird mail is a moderately safe email client. However, keep in mind that Thunderbird is an open-source app and is no longer supported and upgraded by Mozilla. If you're looking for a secure and continuously improved email client, download Mailbird and take it for a trial run.May 12, 2021

Clearly the person who wrote that article was not knowledgable on Thunderbird and wanted to promote their product. Mozilla have a different role. Thunderbird is currently being developed.
Just some basic info but it does offer a good history covering the basics including security. This is also easily found on google. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mozilla_Thunderbird
Not being developed - seriously - Anyone can see and read all the various releases. https://www.thunderbird.net/en-US/thunderbird/releases/

When I search for Thunderbird on Google, I don't see any reference to Mailbird. TB is regularly updated by an organization that is related to Mozilla (MZLA) and shares some of the code that is produced for Firefox updates.
I think the 'answer' you found about Mailbird was probably an ad placed by Mailbird in the search results.

You have already found the forum. so that is good. You can locate the Help Forum via Thunderbird.
- Menu app icon > 'Help' > 'Thunderbird Help'
This opens in a browser. You will see various options under 'Frequent Topics'. Below that is 'Still need help?', so click on the 'Ask the community' button - see image below. Select relevant forum - 'Thunderbird' - see second image below. Click on 'Ask now' - see third image below
If you have been viewing previously asked questions in the forum; such as this webpage; to see if your question has been asked before, but then decide you need to access asking a question: At the top of the webpage click on 'Get Help' to see a drop down for 'Ask the community' - see last image below and this will get you to page where you select 'Thunderbird' and 'Ask Now' as shown in previous images.
