in this few days the browser do not open the ftp protocol

in this few days the browser do not open the ftp protocol

Chosen solution

FTP support was disabled in Firefox 88 for security reasons, according to the release notes: https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/88.0/releasenotes/ (For more information, see bug 1691890 and bug 1574475.)

As a temporary workaround, you can set the network.ftp.enabled preference to true in about:config until FTP support is removed, which is planned for Firefox 90.

P.S. On Windows 7 at least, I can select "Choose other application" in the FTP message and use the Windows file explorer C:\Windows\explorer.exe to access the FTP site. This was mentioned in bug 1574475 comment 3. I used this site for testing: ftp://speedtest.tele2.net
