Feedback: Text Cursor is Anemic

more options

I am unable to apply windows customization to the cursor in thunderbird.

As i write emails, the finding where the cursor is difficult because it is an itty bitty thin line instead of a thick bold line as set by windows accesiability features.

Please figure out how we can see the text cursor more clearly in Tbird. Thanks!

Chosen solution

Create a new integer preference ui.caretWidth in Options/General/Indexing/Config. editor (try a value of 8).

while i sincerely appreciate your assistance, i simply cannot cannot find the setting you're citing.

i've searched for it in Tbird about:config. See attached.

also, in case TB and FF shared the setting, i looked in FF about:config too.

but the setting doesn't exist and i cant figure out how to add it as well.

more options

'Create a new integer preference' by right-clicking in Config. editor (see picture). The preference doesn't exist by default.

Thanks for teaching me on how to add entries in TBird. Too bad we cant do the same in FF.

But in any case, i could not make your TBird to increase the cursor size.

I even turned the app off and on, to see if the entry would take upon a new startup of the app.

Attached is a pic of the entries i made.

The correct preference is ui.caretWidth with a capital W, and it is an integer, not a string.

The same preference can be added to Firefox (confirmed) as a Number type.

ok. Finally i have a big I-beam !

The setting finally took after restarting tbird w/o addons and default settings.

Thanks for your help!
