"Refresh" gives me questionable browsing

more options

So, I had a little message at the bottom of the browser that said Firefox was running a little slow and that I could fix that problem by clicking the "Refresh Firefox" link. I did, and now I"m finding that I have to input my passwords again and in my search engine, now I'm getting a lot of Russian links for my searches. There is a lot of questionable sites and actions going on now. Did I just open a can of worms by hitting the "Refresh" link?

hello canbarra,

sounds like your system is infected.

and then you are inputting passwords here and there, which may be copied by the malware engineers, like russia, chinese, etc...

in the meantime, STOP entering passwords. and be prepared to change them all after the problem is fixed, that is if its not too late.

unfortunately, there are many ways to infect your system and would require some one with a little expertise to check out all the possibilities.

and most assuredly, while your system is protected, the malware has outsmarted it - for now.

perhaps, there is an easy way to solve this issue by restoring your computer to a date when it was functional.

while the restore could help, it may not be 100% if the malware is sophisticated. but its worth a try.
