I cannot find a way to add a webpage shortcut to the Home Screen. The widget is completely inadequate for this purpose.

Is this feature just missing? It is available in Safari. And Android. See screenshots.

If you mean widget then consult Add the Firefox Search widget to your home screen

There is no current way to add a web page to the home screen via Firefox.
