I have only been trying to send stand alone pictures. And for some reason, the procedure I have always used is now working: R. click on pic, choose: copy image. In email, in writing area R. click: paste. Sent pic as I have tested this from sending various pics to various email acts, gmail, hotmail, yahoo mail, att mail and juno mail and so far perfect. I have no idea what the prev. glitch was as all were receiving blank emails with no stand alone pics before. I have not had this problem b4 with Win 7pro, until I bought a new PC with win 10pro. and installed TB. One note, is that I did make one change: under> account setting>Disk space>'to save disk space do not download': I took the check mark out of the prev. checked marked box. Now when sending an internet news page that includes a picture and text caption, for example, everything seems to working normal as it did in the past when I highlighted the picture with a caption underneath, copy and pasted to the 'write' area of a blank email and sent and arrived just as it was sent. Thank you for taking time to help me resolve this problem. In your original Q above, did the received opened email display 'To protect your privacy, Thunderbird has blocked remote content in this message' ? I have never seen that message. All I saw was blank gray pages with no picture attached in the writing area. I am going to mark this solved unless things go awry again and thanks for the help.

What seems to be the problem then?
I see you started another thread here https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1326181 with a bit more info on the same issue, I think. Is this what you were hoping to explain on this thread as well? Don't start multiple threads for the same issue, it makes it harder for us to help. We wouldn't know which thread to follow and respond to. Pick one and stick to it until the matter is resolved.
The problem is when I send an e mail photo, this is all the receiver sees is this text statement " May be an image of 1 person". There is no photo included in or attached to the Email, that's what the problem is. I dont know how to make the problem any more clear as posted above. UsingWin10 pro. Prob. 2 is when I send a copy of a web page that includes pictures, where the picture is supposed to be is this garbled line of text: *901-Historic%20Photo%20Rex%20Family.jp* There is no picture where there was one before I sent in E mail as I have tested this by sending same to myself after the complaints rec'd by the receivers. Sorry about the confusion of 2 different posts as I thought that would be best since I have 2 different related problems w/ TB in sending stand alone photos & a copy of a news article that also included photos.

Not all mail clients are created equal and some prepare and send non standard messages. these often cause issues with forwarding email with images as Thunderbird will display the non standard message format, but will not propagate what it sees as a bad email. So how are you sending your web page?
Note that the URL has spaces in it which have to be escaped. this places %20 in place of spaces in the text. The file also appears to be references as just a .jp. This is not a standard file extension of a jpeg image, so it might confuse an antivirus if one were scanning the links in the page being emailed.
I right click, choose copy, then paste selected picture to a blank Email, all receivers only get this garbled text, and picture does not arrive, only garbled text.
Sounds like you are only sending the alternative text. check out this... After pasting in the image into 'Write': double click on image to open the 'Image Properties' window. Select this checkbox: 'Attach this image to the message' click on OK
Now test the sending.
I followed your posted instructions. Found a sample picture on Pinterest. Selected copy. Went to TB email brought up blank, in write area clicked paste. Pic displayed properly. Doubled clicked on image and dialog box popped up, image properties, put check in box : 'Attach the image to the message.' Sent as usual, checked inbox. Mesg. arrived w/o picture attached. I have no new information except when you use my yahoo mail act which mirrors my att.net act, from TB, this procedure works perfect in sending a Cc to myself from the yahoo mail act. I just cant send photos or any graphics using TB with att.net act. Yahoo mail via att.net works perfect and all in one procedure on pasting photo in write area and click send.
When you sent email to self with image - did the received opened email display 'To protect your privacy, Thunderbird has blocked remote content in this message' ? I just performed a test as described and image would not auto dispay because when you 'copy' and 'paste' you are not just copying the image, you are copying anything the webpage has attached to that image.

Just a shame your using chrome... Firefox offers a right click email the image option as well as copy and the other chrome functions.
My feeling is that the issue will have been anti virus related. Did you new computer come with a new anti virus program? They usually do and it is probably the issue.
When you paste an image into an email in Thunderbird and click send, one of the things that has to occur is an image file have to be created in the temp folder If you have an over active anti virus it will be busy making sure it has no nasties in it (I have never heard of anything active in a jpg file BTW you just don't get infected by them.) A google search using terms like nsmail.htm (your email as it is assembled in the temp folder to send) is a window into the world of issue that anti virus product can cause with files in the temp folder for Thunderbird.
I have also firefox & IE but Google Chrome is default. Will try to use Firefox and see the results. PC came with Windows Defender and I dumped my Norton subscripton. I have disabled firewall & network protection while conducting tests, with no change or improvement in original problem. I'll have to see if there are any glitches in using Firefox. TY for your input and advice. Note: do you think it would be prudent to return to Norton and dump Win defender as a possible permanent solution ?

Yes I see exactly the same.
- Open Write
- right click on image (I copied one from my website) and select 'Copy Image'
- Paste into 'write'
- I see image in Write message, so ok so far.
- Save as draft
- select and check saved draft copy displaying in Message Pane and no image - Only this text sentence appears: 'To protect your privacy, Thunderbird has blocked remote content in this message' plus the 'Alternative text'.
Draft source code says - view upper portion of image attached.
Double click on image to open properties: Select: 'Attach this image to the message' click on OK Save draft again Check source code of draft which has now changed. Draft source code says - view lower portion of image attached.
This removes the 'To protect your privacy, Thunderbird has blocked remote content in this message' message. Result: Image visible in Draft
Sent email. Image good and clear.
