Suddenly the Firefox icon is a generic icon. I tried to re-install but the generic icon is what is shown for the program.

I tried to set the icon for the "default-browser-agent.exe" but then I try it says the default-browser-agent.exe does not contain any icons.

Do you have two Firefox programs on your system?
