For Thunderbird, storing the profile in the cloud such as Dropbox is not recommended due to the nature of TB mail storage and bandwidth concerns. Set up the accounts on two or more devices as IMAP to sync the mail, and set up network calendars and address books (with e.g. TbSync) to sync those items.

Indeed, you risk corrupting your profile. And, it is not supported.
