Possible to Highlight Text in Thunderbird?

Hello. I remember reading some time back that it's not possible to highlight text (such as with yellow) in Thunderbird. And If there is a way, I've never figured it out.

I recently received an email announcement regarding all the improvements in Thunderbird 78, but I was disappointed not to see this one. Am I missing something?

Thanks. I added it and at first I could apply the highlight but not remove it by the indicated method---holding "Shift" and clicking on the "Mark" yellow symbol. But then it began working correctly.
