The Folder totals have disappeared after the current upgrade to 78.0
All of my folder totals disappeared after this update. That is a big issue. I can't find an addon that will work with this version. Is there anything we can do in the controls of Thunderbird? I can't find anything in the help or searching online that is recent and the only addon says that it doesn't work with this upgrade.
The one area at the top of the folders when you choose total only shows the unread.
Thunderbird developers, WHY DID YOU REMOVED THIS? Thanks so much
Chosen solution
Make sure the Total column is wide enough to show the number. To test for a broken layout, run in safe mode (hold Shift when launching TB) and see if it makes a difference. The Total and Unread numbers also appear in the Status Bar (View/Toolbars).

what totals?
Do you mean the information you can turn on in the folder pane heading as shown below? That has been there for years now but if you previously had an addon you probably have not looked.
Click the icon on the Folder Pane Columns (under the View/Layout menu) and enable Total (see picture).
Thank you so much for your replies, but I have those checked and the totals still do not show up. That was the first thing I tried. That is why I am so frustrated! What should be working, isn't.
I just looked and I am running 78.6.0 I have tried every option I and find and there is nothing in the help area of the site that even addresses this. I did see one article on the web that this option has been removed and that you need an addon. When I bring that up, it says it does work for these higher versions, so it hasn't been updated yet. Guess I should NOT have upgraded as I really want to monitor the total number in the accounts. I am a media designer, so I have client site emails and my own.
If anyone comes up with a solution for this newer version, please let me know. Again, setting Total in that dropdown doesn't work.
Thanks so much everyone.

In the 15 years I have used this program on 10 or so laptops, Thunderbird always automatically adjusted to fit the totals .. that is until I did the upgrade last week.
The solution was TOO simple! I truly have to say... it was a blonde moment! Thanks very much and happy holidays!
