Emails getting repeated and mixed up with wrong correspondents. Some emails lost

What to do to fix the problem?

Have uninstalled TB 78.5.0 and reinstalled 78.5.1. Problem getting worse.

See image that shows 4 different senders that have all the same email.

Webmail at ISP all OK - it all goes wrong when TBird downloads them.

Used TBird for 15+ years = no problems.

Have donated in recent past to Mozilla.

Right-click the folder in the Folder Pane, Properties, Repair Folder. Any difference, after the folder is re-indexed?

I did exactly as you suggested and had an interesting result: 

   New emails less than 2 days old resolved themselves.
   Older emails 2+ days remained a little messed up.

I'll watch for the next few days and see what happens - I think your fix has worked. I'll let you know in a few days if the fix continues to work.
