why does the logins and passwords page show https://account.live.com as the website? This is a microsoft web page. Doesnt firefox lockwise use its own service. Every time I reboot my computer firefox requires I log back in and and a page appears to set up firefox. I do it and it still appears every reboot. My preference such as menu bar and book mark disappears after each reboot. My most visited sites is blank until I dismiss one of the listed sites. This all use to work but now doesn't.

Yes, it is part of Microsoft. But the login is done at https://account.live.com A Microsoft site. Don't worry about it.

Thanks for clearing up the account live part. Any help on the part where firefox wont save my preferences after restart?

Note: Some software, like Advanced SystemCare with Surfing Protection, can protect files in the Firefox profile folder against changes. If you have such software then check the settings or uninstall this software.
