Importing event info from calendar.ics file

stephen.tolle

Does Thunderbird allow importing a Calendar.ics file that is attached to a confirmation/registration email so that all the event data for that single event is automatically populated? On those meeting notices there is always an Outlook or Google "Add to Calendar" button; would love to see the same capability for TB! Thanks.

Well there has been an add to calendar button for anyone that enabled the lightning calendar in versions before 78. In 78 there should be one by default as the calendar is integrated in that version.

Thanks Matt. Didn't know about Lightning. I did my homework then got confused seeing a note that Lightning is bundled starting with TB v38 but it wasn't available for my TB v68.11.0. So I downloaded the add-on, verified it showed installed on the Extensions page, but my TB display never changed even after restarting TB and then the laptop. After looking through published Update Issue notes and User Interface notes I executed the "Lightning disappears after a Thunderbird update (release and beta versions)" at this link https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1300449?utm_campaign=questions-reply&utm_source=notification&utm_medium=email#answer-1343016 with no result. Am I missing something obvious?
