I can not send mail through Mediacom
I can not send mail through Mediacom. Contacted Mediacom support and was told it is an email client issue, not theirs.

They suggest port 587 with SSL/TLS security. Normally, port 587 uses STARTTLS and port 465 uses SSL/TLS, but if you first change the security to SSL/TLS, then type in 587 for the port, see if sending works.
Thanks for the suggestions but it did not work. I tried changing just the port to 587 and exited Thunderbird. Signed back in and sending still failed. Tried changing to STARTTLS 587 and it still failed. I should have added on the original post that I also have 2 Gmail accounts that works fine. The problem is with my 2 Mediacom accounts. Mediacom said it wan't their problem because I can go to their Webmail site and send out messages. It just stopped working on Thunderbird today.
I have a similar problem I discovered today, I can get emails from Mediacom but can not reply or send new emails, when I try to send it ask for my password I enter my password and it rejects the password.
Mediacom help had me use the Mediacom webpage email client and I could send emails using that so they said not a Mediacom problem its a Thunderbird problem.
I tried to send using 3 different Mediacom accounts none can send how ever I can send emails using a mail.com email account on the same installation of Thunderbird to my Mediacom email addresses.
Something strange is going on I am guessing Mediacom changed something someplace that is asking for a password and the password is not being accepted.
