Hi there,

I am able to play videos normally, however when I switch to full screen, it takes few seconds with a black screen till it shows the video. The audio continues to play just fine. When I exist the Full Screen, it does the same. When I switch to private browsing or other Firefox profiles, everything is fast and normal. It is just happening on one profile. I deleted the cache with no luck. I think Firefox is using HTML5 to play videos. I need to keep this profile as I would like to keep the history, opened tabs and bookmark. Any suggestion will be really appreciated.

hello hsgu,

However, sometimes you may see a black screen instead of your video when you enter full screen. This can be a problem with your browser, your version of Flash or Flash's settings, but can usually be resolved by making sure all programs are up to date or by changing Flash's hardware acceleration.

hardware acceleration

  • Click the menu button. and select Options.
  • Select the General panel.
  • Under Performance, uncheck Use recommended performance settings. ...
  • Uncheck Use hardware acceleration when available.
  • Click the Firefox menu and select Exit. ...
  • Start Firefox the way you normally do.

Clear all cookies, site data and cache

  • Click the 3 horizontal line top right and select Options.
  • Select the Privacy & Security panel and go to the Cookies and Site Data section.
  • Click the Clear Data… button. The Clear Data dialog will appear. ...
  • Click Clear.

tell me its help.

Thank you!

Hi Arman,

Thanks for your prompt response!

  • I tried both proposed solutions with no luck.
  • I have the latest Firefox installed.
  • Other Firefox profiles work just fine when playing the same exact video.
  • Private Browsing works just fine when playing the same exact video.
  • I am not using Flash Player.
  • I am using HTML5 : 4.1.7, HLS Version : 0.12.4.
  • I have too many tabs opened, but I need them all. Moving to a new profile is not easy as I would like to keep history, saved passwords, opened tabs and bookmark.

Any other suggestion will be really appreciated. Thanks, Jack
