Firefox "flashes" once when it's launched
When I launch Firefox, it waits for a couple seconds (just enough time for me to start typing in a Google search string). Then, after I have finished typing in the string, I look up from the keyboard, to see that the Firefox screen had flashed, and all of my typing has been lost because the browser effectively re-started.
This is quite frustrating, although I have come to realize what is happening, so I just wait for several seconds until after the screen flash happens, so I can start using the browser for real. This behaviour is quite annoying.
I saw a (closed) forum message about this problem that suggested (a) turning off hardware acceleration, and/or (b) turning off your extensions (and re-starting Firefox), to try and find which extension might be causing the flash to occur.
So I tried those suggestions. Turning off hardware acceleration had no effect, but I did find that an extension called "IBM Security Rapport" was the one causing the screen-flash problem. This is an important extension that my bank (Bank of Montreal / Canada), uses to protect their clients safety when they are doing online banking. I do not want to turn it off. If I did turn it off and I end up having some sort of hacker issue, the bank could refuse to help me recover any funds that I might have lost, because I disabled one of their main security systems.
I am writing this memo, just because that other forum conversation that I referred to, asked that users let them know which addons they might find which caused the Firedfox screen-flash problem.
Thanks. GW

Check with the bank that had you install the add-on.

Have you contacted the add-ons support?
I wasn't aware that that kind of help was available. Could you provide a link to that area Fred? (I tried unsuccessfully to find it.) Thanks very much.
