changing internet service provider
If I download Thunderbird and get all my information set up in it, what happens if I change internet service providers? I am planning on doing this which is why I want to get my email folders moved to webmail so that I do not lose them.

What is your existing account type - POP or IMAP?
I have no idea. How do I find out? I have Bell Sympatico.ca as my internet service provider. I am planning on leaving Bell and going to Wightman Communications which is a private company.

I was able to find out that my computer's processor is AMD Athlon (tm) II x 2 240 processor 2.80 GHz. According to information on Thunderbird, the earliest processor it will acknowledge is Pentium 4. I assume Thunderbird will not recognize my computer. The question of changing from one internet service provider to another is now moot. Thank you, Christ1, for your help. I will probably have to stay with Gmail which I have recently set up and use it to receive some of my emails and hopefully store my email folders.
