My old Mac crashed, (El Capitan) So I booted off my secondary hard drive which was running OSX 10.12 Beta, I moved my profiles folder over to transfer my old mail. But even if I specify a new mail notification, it plays the default sound plus the wav file that I specified. I have looked into the advanced config editor, but and disabled the notification, but even with no custom notification sound enabled, it still plays a default sound. Any thoughts? I know something like this was a bug 3 or 4 years ago, but I doubt it is the same bug now.

I took a better look at it, and sure enough under notifications the option for the default mail sound was checked. Once I removed that, it only played the sound I specified. Thanks for that tip. Much appreciated.

Do you have the account set up in the OS X Mail app, and sound notifications configured in OS X Notification Center?

The mail was checked but there is no mail configured for the OS X mail app
