it was working a minute ago. I must have inadvertently clicked something so all I see are the headers... Mac, Catalina.

Did you turn the Message Pane off? F8 is the shortcut to toggle it on and off. At least for Windows. I think it is the same for MAC.

No it opened my music. where would the message pane be?

Ah! But you said the magic word "Message Pane" I found it under View: Layout: Message Pane.. I don't know how I turned it off; I didnt know it was there. Thunderbird works in mysterious way. Thank you

My guess is you pressed F8. Like I said, that is the shortcut to toggle it on and off.

Music? Where did that come from?

I have no idea but F8 open up my music . A shortcut from the beginning of time is all I can guess.

For my info on a MAC, when you go to View-Layout-Message Pane does it list a shortcut for this option.

On Windows it looks like this... Message Pane (F8)

After doing so reading on MAC function keys, in order to us the F keys as intended you have to hold the FN key and then press the F key.

It seems like Apple uses the F Keys for other purposes when they are pressed by themselves.

I had no idea what the FN key was for...And yes, when I hold it down and hit F8, the message pane comes and goes. So do you know where it would tell me what the other ones do? Because I tried using FN and hitting the other F keys but don't see what it is doing.
