In my iOS task bar I now have two different icons for the Firefox browser and I wonder whether it's safe. I have the usual Firefox flame icon and some iOS tool icon.

If you have a problem (pencil) with the Firefox icon in the Dock then try to reinstall Firefox and drag the current Firefox application to the Trash.

one icon is maybe the install DMG you deleted when you moved / copied the application into your application folder. You can get rid of it, I believe.

Apparently it meant that I had to do an upgrade, which I did. Now the icon has disappeared and the usual icon is back.

This strange icon only appeared after updating to the latest version (76.0.1). Does this icon mean there was a problem with the updating & I should do it again?

I want the flame on my desk top computer, how do I get it?

That flame icon is used for erasing the browse history of the search you have completed. Click on the icon, and it will wipe the search you just completed.
