Firefox allows to get all network info via the Network Monitor, but I'm looking for a way to get same info (or at least traffic consumption) programmatically and log it

You probably want to look at the API https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Mozilla/Add-ons/WebExtensions/API/devtools.network
