My PC is used by me and another person and we use vastly different zoom levels. My partner uses about 0.75 and I use 1.25 in Chrome and would like to set similar zoom levels in Firefox. As I use the PC most and I want the default zoom level to be 1.25. I would like to replace the FF level of 1.2 with 1.25 and delete some of the lower zoom levels. A setting of 0.33, 0,5, 0.75., 1.00 and 1.25 to replace the settings up to and including 1.33 would be my desire. I wish to leave the higher zoom levels unchanged.

I understand I can change this in about:config but would like some assistance in doing this.

Chosen solution

1. in your address bar type, "about:config" (without the quote marks) and hit Enter

2. read & accept the warning

3. in the search bar located at the top of the page, copy/paste: "toolkit.zoomManager.zoomValues" (without quotes)

4. click on the pencil button located on the right hand side of the page to edit the existing settings

5. delete the string of values paste the following string of values over the current values (minus the quotes):

 ".33,.5,.75,1,1.25,1.5,1.7,2,2.4,3"

6. click the check-mark button to accept and save these changes

7. restart Firefox for these changes to take effect

Doing so will change the zoom values from 133% and below from the default of:

30%, 50%, 67%, 80%, 90%, 100%, 110%, 120%, 133%

to your desired settings of:

33%, 50%, 75%, 100%, 125%

While the settings above 133% will remain unchanged:

150%, 170%, 200%, 240%, 300%

Should you ever want to revert back to the default settings, follow steps 1-3 again and then click the backwards arrow button next to the pencil button to revert back.

Set up another user account on the computer for your partner. Firefox will create a separate profile for them to use.

Thank you. That was very helpful.

Neither of us have to go through too many zooms to get to our desired level,

That sounds complicated when the only problem we have is in zoom levels. The solution addresses that without us having to log in or out or change user..
