how do I change the color back to the light background in Thunderbird?

When I select add-ons I don't get any theme button, just an advisory that I have no add-ons selected. I find the dark background almost impossible to work with and want the light background back. I got the dark background when I updated Thuderbird per the onscreen dialog. I never picked a dark theme.
