I installed Preview yesterday and the system reports that it has accessed the camera 4 times today. Why?

Page you visited uses this javascript method.

Sometimes ads use it and trigger these reports.

I have since denied access to the camera.

Hi

This is being caused by the website that you are viewing requesting access to your camera or microphone. We could keep this request hidden, but we think it would be better for you to make an informed choice.

We are working on ways to reduce the frequency of these messages and this will hopefully be in a future update. In the meantime, the best option is do what you have done and adjust this permission in the the Android application settings.

If the request had been made visible I could have done something, but it was not. I only knew that the camera had been accessed AFTER the event. I cannot imagine that any site that I had visited would need to access either mike or camera legitimately.
