Firefox won't let me install Chrome

For some specific reason I uninstalled Chrome - probably something to do with security, I guess but then I seemed to find the answer and it had nothing to do with Chrome. I've therefore tried to re-install it but failed. I can download it and save it but when I try to run and load it nothing happens. Any answers will be appreciated.

Chosen solution

No and yes - I tried in all kinds of configurations - but essentially I simply Googled the Chrome download and tried from there via my Firefox browser...but that's what seemed to block me. I even tried via IE (with Firefox off) without success.

But just an hour or so ago I found a solution! Real Player had signed me out and in order to sign in again I found that the simplest way to do so was to remove it and start again, which I did. And when the 'new' Real Player started up I was asked to sign in and they also said that they recommended Chrome and provided a link to download it from. That I did - successfully, even though Firefox was still running! Strange world.

So yes, problem solved, but not the way I expected it - nevertheless thanks for your reply.

Was Firefox running at the time? The browser can not prevent you from installing other programs.

Where are you getting Chrome from?

That was very good work. Well done. Please flag your last post as Solved Problem as this could help others with similar problems.

It's possible that the first link you used was bad or something.
