Is there any setting that closes the download link tab automatically?

When I click a link that directly downloads a zip file, I want that newly opened tab to close automatically after the download has started. I looked around in about:config for some time but couldn't find anything. Any help?

Easiest to avoid such a extra tab is to right-click the link and use "Save Link As" instead of left-clicking the link. That way you download the file directly and Firefox won't open a tab because it doesn't know what content type the server will send and you will have to close this tab yourself in most cases.
