Logged on to Thunderbird this evening to find that all 4 Email accounts have been deleted! Any thoughts. Have I changed the setting some how?

Maybe Thunderbird lost track of the profile name folder and created a new one which of course has no mail accounts. Check to see what you have got stored.

Make hidden files and folders visible. http://kb.mozillazine.org/Show_hidden_files_and_folders

This is the default location where Thunderbird profile folders are stored:

  • C:\Users\<Windows user name>\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\<Profile name>\

A 'profile name' folder is usually called 'xxxxxxxx.default' wherre the x's are letters and numbers. How many 'profile name' folders are in the 'Profiles' folder? What are they called or post an image showing contents of 'Profiles' folder.

In the Roaming\Thunderbird folder, you should see a 'profiles.ini' file. Open it using a text editor program like Notepad. Post image of contents.

re :Found them in the Profiles' folder. Good. How many 'profile name' folders are in the 'Profiles' folder? Post an image showing contents of 'Profiles' folder. Which 'profile name' folder has all the old mail accounts?
