My Firefox privacy and security settings were set to defult with Add-ones not working

Posted

Hi,

I encountered a problem regarding the Firefox settings after unexpected WIN 7 PC shutdown due to a high temperature.

All of my security and safety setting ( history, permissions, location,...) reset to defult Firefox Settings. Even the WEBRTC setting was set to defult (true).

Almost all of the ADD-ones stopped working. So I had to start them again.

Did someone experienced the same problem? And it is possible to be a hack or an issiue with antivirus?

Thank you very much for your time.

Depending on how the computer shut down, some files could have been corrupted.

1) Make sure your cooling fan is working properly. Buy a can of compressed air and blow out the fan and the air vents.

2) Perform a System File Check to fix corrupted system files

4) Look on your desktop. Do you see a folder called; '''Old Firefox?''' Look inside. Look for the folder with the latest creation date. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/recovering-important-data-from-an-old-profile https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/back-and-restore-information-firefox-profiles https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-run-firefox-when-profile-missing-inaccessible

Wishing all best to all users.
