When the 'enter password' pop-up appears for Thunderbird (and Firefox), why can't you pop up a message if the 'Caps Lock' is active?
I sometimes forget to turn off 'Caps Lock' when switching apps and it would save time before entering the password to know it is active and getting a reject message necessitating re-entry of the correct password.

There has been a bug on this for a while. It is more complicated than initially seems.
Here is bug report so you can follow progress: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=259059
I don't know how Quicken does it, but as soon as the 'enter password' pop-up appears, there is a temporary pop-up with: " Caps Lock is on. Having Caps lock on may cause you to enter your password incorrectly. You should press caps lock to turn it off before entering your password"
