bookmarks on bookmark bar have disappeared with version 67
What the heck is happening? A few weeks ago you stop my add-ons from working and today with version 67 my bookmarks saved on bookmark bar are gone and my add-ons stopped working in private mode.
Argh

Hi blueboy714, sorry to hear about this problem.
Do you see your bookmarks in the Bookmarks Sidebar (Ctrl+b) or in the Library window (Ctrl+Shift+b), or are they missing there as well?
You mentioned add-ons not working in private windows. Are they still working in normal window at least?
Firefox 67 changed how Firefox works with profiles, and this transition sometimes leads to problems, so I suggest this next to rule out that issue:
If you haven't already, could you close out of Firefox and do a normal Windows shutdown and restart to complete any pending updates and release any file locks.
If Firefox again starts up without your data, could you check whether your stuff is available in a different profile, as follows:
Profile Manager Page
Inside Firefox, type or paste about:profiles in the address bar and press Enter/Return to load it.
This page should list at least one profile and could list many. Each will show links to a pair of folders; please ignore those for now.
The profile that Firefox is currently using will have this:
This is the profile in use and it cannot be deleted.
Anyway, please do not delete anything here -- don't use any Remove buttons.
Do you have another profile named default or default-longnumber listed on this page? If so, you can check whether it is the one you were using recently by clicking its Launch profile in new browser button.
If it isn't what you want, simply close that new window.
If it IS what you want, back on the about:profiles page, click the Set as default profile button for that profile so Firefox uses it automatically at the next startup.
Any progress so far?
I still have my bookmarks menu, but all of individual links I had on the bookmarks bar are gone with version 67 and about:profile doesn't help.
I only have one profile on my PC and I shouldn't have to try to find a backup profile just because Mozilla messed up something in new version.
Mozilla sure has made it difficult to keep using the browser lately. I am slowly switching over to Chrome trying to figure out how to use.
So in the sidebar/library, if you click Bookmarks Toolbar, are the bookmarks there? The problem is that the bar is shown empty, or are the bookmarks not listed in those two places, either?
the bookmarks I had saved in bookmark folders are still present - but the bookmarks I had specifically saved on the bookmark bar so I didn't have to go specific bookmark folders are gone.
Okay, so when you click Bookmarks Toolbar in either the Bookmarks Sidebar or Library, it is shown as completely empty now. In that case, the next step:
Can you try restoring one of Firefox's daily backups? This article has the steps: Restore bookmarks from backup or move them to another computer. As a precaution, before restoring, you could create a backup of what you have now.
Note that the name of an automatically created JSON bookmarks backup in the bookmarkbackups folder includes a total item count (folders and separators included) and an hash value to prevent saving the same backup more than once. You also see this count in the Restore menu drop-down list.
