Thunderbird is an email client program.

You create mail accounts for your existing email addresses, chat/feed/etc accounts and can view/download emails. This means you can create several mail accounts for various email addresses and view them in one window. Mail accounts can connect to different servers.

But there is no such thing as a 'Thunderbird account'.

A mail account is for an email address. That email address must exist in order to verify that email address and it's password with the server.

You would need to offer more information on what you mean by 'an anonymous Thunderbird account'. What are you trying to achieve and what is the purpose?

I'm trying to get onto sites that require my email address but I want to prevent them from identifying me and responding to my regular inbox, which like yours is grossly overloaded. Then I can delete the inbox without determining which are important posts.

My address must already be in innumerable databases.

then go to google or outlook.com or yahoo and create a new email address. Then add it to Thunderbird as most of the providers will delete the email address unless you check it for mail.
