How can I link an icon to my Linkedin profile on my email footer ?
Dear Sir Or Madam, I want to create an email footer and insert on it a Linkedin icon to link with my Linkedin profile. In this way, the receivers of my emails can click on the Linkedin icon and visit automatically my Linkedin profile.
Can you show me the path to follow to do that ? Do you have a tutorial which can explain me step by step how to go trough ?
Waiting for your prompt feedback. Thanks a lot and Best Regards.
Luca.

1) Under Tools/Account Settings, Composition & Addressing for the account, select 'below my reply (above the quote)' in the 'and place my signature' drop-down menu.
2) Almost all mail programs make an email address a clickable link by default, to make it easy for the recipient to start a new message to you or perform other operations from the right-click menu. I suggest you leave it as is, but if you must make it not clickable, enter it as something like username AT gmail.com.
3) To make the line extend beyond the text, just enter additional spaces, then select the text and spaces, and apply the underline. Besides it looking odd with the extension, underlining usually indicates the text has an embedded hyperlink, so I don't recommend it if there's no link.

Create an html file with the TB message composer and insert an image (Linkedin icon) that includes an URL for your profile. In Tools/Account Settings, select the account in the left pane and check the box in the right pane to attach a signature from the html file.

Dear Sir Or Madam, I received your email dated 23th April. Unfortunately I am not able to insert the URL on the image icon. Here is the path I follow: 1) I click on the tab "create a new message" on the client dashboard. 2) I click on Insert/image/image address 3) I select the image to upload 4) I switch the last tab called "connection" 5) I copy and paste my Linkedin URL in the bar that is available in the tab "connection" and click the bottom "ok". 6) I create the Html for the icon inserted and copy and paste the code on the TB message composer available on toold/account settings, than press the bottom OK. 7) The icon appears on the footer but If I click on it the link doesn't work.
If you let me have your email address, I can forward to you the screenshot to show you the path I follow.
Waiting for your reply. Regards. Luca.
After you have inserted the image with the embedded link (step 5), select File/Save As/File..., Save as type: HTML, name the file, OK. Then, in Account Settings for the account, check the box 'In alternativa allega la firma...' and browse to the saved html file.
Or, in step 5., select the entire message body (Ctrl+A), Insert/HTML..., select all and copy (Ctrl+A, Ctrl+C), close the HTML window. In the signature box for the account (last image), paste (Ctrl+V) and check the box to use HTML.
The problem is that I am not able to embed the link with the Linkedin icon. Can you show me how to solve the problem or can you submit to my attention any tutorial ? Thanks. Luca.
Your 4th picture shows the link is embedded in the inserted image (Collegamento). Note that the link isn't active in the message composer window, by design, but it will be active when you save the signature as an html file. Try it - open the html file in your browser, or click the image in a sent message or draft which has the html file attached as a signature.

I have just followed strictly the path stated on the below link that you drew on my attention. https://www.lifewire.com/add-image-to-thunderbird-signature-1173166 Nevertheless the embedded link of the picturer is not active. Of course I paid attention to safe the picturer as HTML file. To sum up, here is the path: 1) I opened the dashboard of Thunderbird and open a new message to write. 2) I inserted the text and the signature I wanted to use as signature. 3) When I insert the picturer (inserisci/immagine/proprietà immagine) I embedded the link (inserisci/immagine/proprietà immagine/collegamento). 4) I safed the text and image as HTML file (File/Salva Come/File/HTML ) and close the email draft. 5) On the dashboard of Thunderbird, on the top right side, I selected: option/account setting and I ticked the box "In alternativa allega la firma da un file" and I selected the saved file of the signature on HTML version and clicked the buttom "OK". 6) After doing the above procedure, I clicked the buttom "write" of the dashboard to write a new message; the signature apears but the link of the image still doesn't work. What does it depend on ? Best Regards. Luca.
In step 6), the signature appears but clicking the link in the image doesn't work. As mentioned above, this is by design, to enable editing when you click in the message. The link will open when clicked by the recipient or if you view the sent message.
If links don't work when you click on them in your received messages, that is https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/hyperlinks-in-messages-not-working#w_problems-with-received-or-saved-mails a separate problem]. See the first section of the article about composing messages.
I am happy to confirm to you that the Linkedin icon embedded with a link now works well. Nevertheless there are still some issues I'd like to submit to your attention as below stated: 1) When I receive an email and I have to reply to the sender, I press the botton "reply" to type the message. The footer has a wrong position; it is automatically posinioned on the bottom of the page. Please check the attached screenshot number 1. 2) The email address stated as text on my footer, appears automatically with an hyperlink when a recipient receives my email despite I didn't embend and neither activate any link on my email address when I create my footer. Please see the screenshot number 2. 3) How can I insert a longer line under the full name which copose the first row of my footer ? Please see the attachment number 3.
Waiting for your feedback. Thanks in advance. Regards. Luca.
