I had a previous one version of Thunderbird, perhaps 50xx. All start when my gmail account doesn't want to work anymore. Seams was connecting and reading something, but not downloading anything and when try send something get error: "Sending of the message failed. The message could not be sent because the connection to Outgoing server (SMTP) smtp.gmail.com was lost in the middle of the transaction. Try again.". First I had smtp.googlemail.com when I get this message. I changed to smtp.gmail.com, changed different port 587, 465 but doesn't want work at all.

Then I upgrade the version to 60.5.1, but happen the same. Later I was curious to see if other email works, but not even hotmail, also a privat server 3em.it don't work. So all stop working. I delete the password from Saved logins, it asking again but receive same error message when try to send. When I try read gmail account is telling me that I have 4 emails for example but don't download anything!!!

I restarted Thunderbird even with Add-ons disabled and same happen. I don't know anymore what to do? Can I get some help?

Chosen solution

If you can't send from any of your accounts, it suggests there is some program blocking all outgoing mail. Try starting Windows in safe mode and see if you can send from TB. Also, do you connect through a VPN?

It is possible that Gmail are blocking you, so check out the following.

If you use a POP mail account or an IMAP mail account that uses 'Authentication Method' = 'Normal Password' then it is necessary to select the 'Less secure apps' option in the gmail webmail account which you access/logon via a browser.

sfhowes you have right. I didn't access my email since 5 days via computer, but in last 2 -3 days I was playing with some VPN testing. NordVPN, OpenVPN and i2p. I uninstall all later but still remains some tunnels. Thinking that can be from these also, I found the tunnels which was hard to delete, but finally I succeed. But seams was not enough all of these. Luckly, I had an image of system from 2 years and I use it. So, I solved the problem like this. Seams you have to take care how to use VPN. Thanks for advice.
