Hello there !

First of all, I'd like to thank you all for all the great work you're doing ;)

Now, let's me explain the issue. For the second time in 3 weeks or so, my Mozilla Firefox browser (version 64.0.2) isn't showing anything when launched. And by anything, I mean it does not load or show any webpage, neither locally or the distant webpage, it just show a grey background as shown in the image. Btw, it's not crashing at all, it's just not displaying anything. Clicking on the menu icon open it, but clicking on any item just do strictly nothing. Trying to access "about:<anything>" just start a never ending load of the page, so do trying to access any web ressources.

I've already tried some things, but none of them work :

- Launch in safe mode,
- Use the repair tool,
- Uninstall and reinstall.

I've also looked up if there was some error log file in the AppData folder, but nothing.

Last time, I managed to repair this by uninstalling, and removing strictly anything related to Firefox on my computer (Windows 10 Familly), and installed it back, but tbh, I'd like not to reinstall the browser every 2 weeks or so, as it takes me half an hour to download it, thanks to my great internet connection.

If missing some information, or unclear point, I can add on demand. Excuse me in advance for any English mistakes or mishaps.

Thanks !

Well, I don't know if this make sense, but after different uninstall/reinstall with trial and error, I've cleaned the WinSxS folder using Dism.exe, reinstall, and it works this time.

Though, I don't know if this is really what solves everything, but this could be good to know.

hi, can you get firefox to crash in this state when you enter "about:crashparent" into the address bar? if so, please submit the crash report and let us know the id of the submitted crash, maybe that's containing some clues...

Well, just tried, but same as other "about:" I've tried, infinite loading...

i'm assuming this is caused by some third-party software on your system hooking into firefox causing that unwanted behaviour (perhaps some security software or something else that's prohibiting the communication between a number of firefox.exe processes). you could check that by booting windows 10 into "safemode with networking enabled" once and see if firefox is behaving normally there.

Still a nope, I've just reboot it and the exact same problem, looping on any "about:" and not displaying anything. I should probably have mention earlier, I'm using Windows Defender and no other antivirus.

Well, after a full clean install and reboot, it's still not working but this time I've got a crash after a repair, and the report id is bp-30f2a2e7-e509-4a13-8901-d19cc0190121

Edit : overwise, it's still the exact same situation, nothing show up and "about:<anything>" does an infinite loop.
