In case you're using one of these :

Hello Cherdog,

Assuming that you're using Google as your search engine; you could start by checking your region setting :

https://www.google.com/preferences?hl=en-NL&fg=1

(if you had to change anything; don't forget to press the blue "Save" button at the bottom)

Or you could choose a Google plugin here :

https://mycroftproject.com/google-search-plugins.html

(you'll have to scroll way down)

I do not use google. I am using Mozilla/Firefox

Firefox is not a search engine; it's a browser ....

If you don't use Google : what is your default search engine  ?

See : 3-bar menu (or Tools) => Options => Search

If changing the settings doesn't work for you, you could
try one of these :

And yet you don't get US search results  ?

I am not sure which settings to change to from the link you sent for https://mycroftproject.com

This link is not about changing settings, but about downloading a DuckDuckGo search engine plugin, should your current version of the search engine fail to give you the search results you want.

Excuse my misuse of terms.

I am not sure which "DuckDuckGo search engine plugin" to download. There appears to me there is a possible choice of three or four options.

Please consider I am not by any means educated in dealing with this subject.
