I have this add on installed but be darned if I can figure out how to use it. I've Googled and still can't find anything. There are lots of screenshots shown, and explanations of what the program will do, but not the exact steps to take to accomplish what you want.

Name of Addon: 'Account Colors' This means the colours are associated with Accounts.

Tab: 'Account/Identity Colors' Colours are applied to each account or identity (email address). Select different colours for font and background on a per account basis.

Tab: 'Folder Pane' Choose whether colour is applied to the account name or all the folders in that account or both. Colour can be applied to either Font or Background or both.

Individual folders do not get the option to have individual coloured backgrounds that are unrelated to the account colour itself. This addon is about Account Colours.

After installing, I presume you did restart Thunderbird for the addon to be enabled.

I've just accessed the addon you mention and there is a lot of information. https://addons.thunderbird.net/en-US/thunderbird/addon/account-colors/ eg: Accessing Account Colors Options The Options Dialog can be accessed in two ways: • either by selecting Tools | Account Colors Options... on the Thunderbird main menu. • or by selecting Tools | Add-ons on the Thunderbird main menu, and then clicking the Options button.

The first way is recommended, since it allows the coloring/styling changes to be seen while still in the Options dialog.

The first method is refering to 'Tools' on the main menu which is the 'Menu Bar'. Maybe you do not have this enabled. 'Menu icon 3 bars' > 'Options' > select 'Menu Bar' 'File' > 'Edit' > 'View' etc will appear above the tabs. 'Tools' will be on the Menu Bar. Click on 'Tools' to see drop down list and select 'Account Colour Options'.

The second method: 'Menu icon 3 bars' > 'Addons' will open the 'Addons Manager' tab Select 'Extensions' - jigsaw icon - 'Account colors' will have an 'Options' buttons which accesses the same 'Account Colour Options' window.

Both methods opens the 'Account colors Options' window - it will look like the last image shown at the addon link page.

The Options dialog box has a tabbed interface. The first tab defines the font and background colors for each account or identity. The subsequent tabs choose whether the font/background colors are to be applied and also choose the font styles/sizes and additional styles to be applied for the folder pane, thread pane, message pane/tabs/windows and compose windows.

Thank you for your response. I get all this, but none of the above tells you what to click and where in order to do this or that. For instance, Can't you color the folder background differently for different folders, or sets of folders?

Thank you. I think maybe I was confusing Account Colors with another app I had that is not compatible with the new versions of TB. I loved that app.

Perhaps you're thinking of Color Folders?
