When I try to attach a file to an email in thunderbird since using Mac Mojave my computer freezes and has to be restarted. What can be done about this?

Since using Mojave on my Mac, when sending an email when I try to attach a file from documents my computer freezes and nothing more can happen until I power off and restart. It doesn't seem to happen if I move the document to the desktop and then attach it. Is there a fix for this?

So if you don't add an attachment it send fine ?
