Thunderbird is deleting cetain emails from my Inbox immediately after downloading them. Why?
I can get a brief glimpse of the subject emails as they download but, they they are deleted instantly from the list of downloaded email messages. I'v not been able to find a reason for what's happening.
Chosen solution
I can think of a number of reasons.
1. The message is identified as junk and moved to the junk mail folder.
2. You account is IMAP and you have deleted the mail somewhere else like your phone or a web page. You see it download and then the status is synchronized by being deleted to bring the folder into a synchronized state.

Thanks Matt. None of the deleted emails ever appeared in the Junk or Trash mail folders. But I think I've (we've) solved my problem... I've disabled all of Thunderbird's Spam function capabilities. I don't ever remember labeling any of my email as spam in Thunderbird. I usually cull-out unwanted email in Yahoo mail before downloading them to Thunderbird.
Thanks again for your help. Much appreciated. Jim
If Thunderbird thought they were spam it would put them in the junk folder.
BE assured that a properly trained Thunderbird junk filter out shines the dodgy and extremely annoying yahoo one.
