Hi there as per title, I have changed ISP and with that received new server settings. I have changed server settings, incoming and outgoing but the server still seems to connect to the old settings. Not really sure what to do. I don't want to lose all the emails on my computer which will happen when I create a new account, this works, but all old emails don't transfer because I don't hve access to goddady anylonger, I only have emails saved on my laptop. Any help appreciated!

Okay figured out how to copy emails from existing thunderbird email account to my new imap account with new ISP for anyone who has this issue in the future.

  1. Create new email account with your new ISP (same email address)
  1. Create new email account in Thunderbird (name has to be different but address and server settings are the same
  1. Drag an drop emails from old account to new account in thunderbird.

This will update you email account with your new ISP as long as it is an IMAP account.
