Have changed internet supplier. Old company has shut off services. Don't know how to get new internet installed. I added gmail address as my new account email but it is not coming up and my old email is still there but now will not connect, there is a delete button in the accounts settings but don't want to lose all of my existing stuff on the old email account

For the old account:

  1. install importexporttools NG addon
  2. highlight inbox of old account
  3. rightclick and select importexport option to export mbox
  4. highlight Local Folders
  5. rightclick and select the importexport option to import mbox
  6. repeat for other folders in account
  7. once you have checked to see all messages now saved in Local Folders, you can delete the old account.

For the gmail account, post screenshot of the error message and any other info you may feel appropriate. Be sure that you have thunderbird set to accept cookies (settings>privacy&security) and DO NOT enter password during setup but wait for Google to ask for it
