This is a new install on my laptop. Almost everything on my office PC synched up on the laptop except T-bird. I loaded it and it found my credentials but it keeps asking me to sign in with Google. I enter my User ID and click next but nothing happens. What am I doing wrong or what is T-bird not doing?

My guess is your anti virus / firewall is assisting in the sign in process by blocking it.

Nope. Removed all anti-virus stuff; same result. Any other ideas? It's a Windows 8.1 machine I inherited.

Enable 'less-secure apps' on the Gmail website and make sure cookies for google are allowed in Tools/Options/Privacy. Also, make sure TB is v. 52 or higher.
