When I access hotmail via Google Chrome I am offered a list of the e-mail addresses which my family uses and subsequently having selected one the appropriate password is served up. Can I persuade Mozilla to do the same? If so how?

The best thing to do is to use a password on your computer user account, and to set up separate user accounts for all others using the computer.
